Is NBA 2K24 Crossplatform Play? [2024 Updated]

If you have NBA 2K24 for PS4, you can only play with other PS4 users. You cannot play with friends who have the game on different consoles.

NBA 2K24 is the first game in the series to have crossplay. But it only works on some systems.

PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can play together. 

You can also team up with friends on different consoles. However, Nintendo Switch, PC, and older-gen console players can’t join in. 

Is NBA 2K24 Crossplay?

NBA 2K24’s website has a FAQ section. The information states that playing with others across different systems will be an option. This is for players using PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. This means friends can play together in all the different game modes. 

To use this feature, you need an NBA 2K account and online subscriptions for your console. This is like most online gaming. This is the first time crossplay has been in an NBA 2K game in 25 years.

When you turn on crossplay, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players can talk to each other. They can use voice chat while playing the game.

This feature should make matchmaking faster. It will be easier to find other players in the same modes at the same time.

Crossplay Unavailable for Old Consoles

The company made an official statement that cross-platform multiplayer for NBA 2K24 will only work on new consoles.

Players using Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, or Xbox One are not able to join games with users on different platforms.

But there’s one good thing. If you played NBA 2K23 on PS4 or Xbox One, you can move your progress. You can move it to PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. This only works if you get a newer console in the same family.
